Take This Jail And Shove It!
Composed by Lee "Startergun" Harvey
Los Angeles County Jail May 1981
Well take this jail and shove it.
I ain't living here no more,
so when they call my number
Im'a walking out the door.
You can tell that damned old Senior
and those prowlers on the floor...
They can take this jail and shove it.
I ain't staying here no more!
I have taken all their crap
and I've been put to shame,
they done give me every rap
that you and I could name.
So when they call my number
I'll be stepping out this door.
You can take this jail and shove it.
I ain't living here nor more.
Sooo! Take this jail and shove it.
I ain't staying here to no more.
You can call my number anytime,
and I'll walk on out the door.
I'm a'packing all my memories
and my "yes-sirs" on demand,
I'm gonna show old Pitchess
I don't need his helping hand.
I've been slapped upside my head,
and threatened by the "man".
I been laid out almost dead
'cause I couldn't understand.
Yes! I've been cursed and labeled
and bounced up off the wall.
So before I'm too disabled
I'm a'gonna tell you all....
You...Can...Take...This jail and
shove it!
I ain't telling you no lie.
You can hang it up or tear it down
when you see my rear go by.
So tell all those Prowlers
and that Senior on the floor...
They can take their jail and shove it!
I ain't a'staying here no more!!!
