Badge dating from the early
20's worn by a gentleman who
had just went throught the
Great War.  Upon discharge
from the Army he joined the
Los Angeles Co. Sheriff's Dept.
In the 1920's, Deputies had to
purchase all their own
equipment.  This Deputy
bought and carried a Smith &
Wesson .32 WCF (.32-20) six
shot.  This revolver was
manufactured about 1915.
The holster carried by this Deputy was
his from the Army.  A 1917 US holster
formerly designed for a .45 cal Military
& Police Smith & Wesson.
